Remove the ignition distributor cap and its slider.
Turn the crankshaft by the alternator drive belt so that the cam of the ignition distributor shaft fully raises the breaker hammer lever (the cam and the plastic slider of the breaker lever must touch at the highest point).
Measure the gap between the contacts with a feeler gauge. It should be 0.4 mm. With a properly adjusted gap, the feeler gauge should slide between the contacts with little friction. The gap between burnt contacts can only be measured from the edge, otherwise incorrect data can be obtained.
If the gap is too large or too small, slightly loosen the fixing bolt (pos. "A" pictured 74/693). Using a screwdriver, move the contact of the breaker so that the measuring probe fits snugly between the contacts. In this case, the plastic slider of the interrupter must rest on the cam of the ignition distributor shaft.
Tighten fixing bolt "A".
Rotate the crankshaft (and consequently, the ignition distributor shaft) so that the breaker lever is fully raised. Check the gap between the contacts again with a feeler gauge, correct if necessary.
Install the slider and cover on the ignition distributor. Adjust ignition timing.
Attention! There must be no oil or grease between the contacts. Otherwise, the engine will not start.
