Removing
Insert a screwdriver into the groove of the V-belt pulley from above and loosen the hex pulley nut.
Remove V-belt.
Installation and tension
Before installing, check the V-belt. If the belt is cracked or damaged, replace it.
Belt tension is determined by the order of spacer washers.
Adjust the V-belt tension by installing more or less spacers between the belt pulley halves. The tension increases when the washers are removed and decreases when they are inserted.
Attention! Place all washers not inserted between the parts of the belt pulley between its rear half and the nut. The total number of washers on the hub must remain constant.
When tightening the nut, hold the pulley with a screwdriver.
Attention! The back half of the belt pulley has a notch that should hook into the ledge of the top half of the pulley.
Check the tension of the V-belt. A new, correctly tensioned belt, when pressed with a finger in the middle of the span between the pulleys, should sag by 5 mm, and a used belt should sag by about 10 mm.
