Replacing breaker contacts

Over time, burnt places in the form of small bumps and craters form on the breaker contacts. In addition, the plastic cam wears out, which leads to a reduction in the distance between the contacts. As a result, the power of the spark drops. Breaker contacts must be replaced every 20,000 km.

Attention! The contact of the interrupter with the cam withstands approximately 30,000 km of run.

Removing

Remove the distributor cap and slider.



Disconnect connector "With", unscrew the screw "A" and remove the breaker contact.

Installation

Lubricate the contact bearing with a drop of oil.

Install a breaker contact. Lubricate the sliding surface of the cam and the plastic cam on the contact with a small amount of universal grease.

Carefully remove any oil or grease from the contact surfaces. The contact surfaces must be parallel to each other.

Connect the wire to the breaker contact.

Adjust the angle of the closed state of the breaker contacts.

Install slider.

Inspect the ignition distributor cap for cracks and traces of surface leakage currents.

Clean the cover inside and out. Replace defective cover.

Check the position and condition of the carbon contact, install the distributor cap.

Adjust ignition timing.
