Removal and installation of a multipurpose steering wheel

Removing

1. Remove the driver's airbag before removing the steering wheel. Removal and installation of an airbag are described in the chapter «Passive safety system».

2. Disconnect connectors (1) (The figure shows only one of the two) from counterparts (2) (see fig. VC6.002).



3. Center the steering wheel (wheels must be straight).

4. Loosen the screw (3).

Installation

1. Install the steering wheel on the steering column shaft so that the marks for the center position of the steering wheel and steering column (arrows) matched.

2. The connector and protrusions of the rotating contact joint must be installed in the corresponding holes in the steering wheel hub.

3. Attach connector (1) to the counterpart (2).

4. Fix the steering wheel with a screw (3), tighten the screw to 50 Nm. (The screw can be tightened no more than 5 times.)

5. Mark the screw with a center punch.
