Measurement of piston protrusion from the cylinder block at TDC

When installing new pistons or replacing the cylinder block assembly, it is necessary to check the protrusion of the pistons at TDC. Depending on the size of the protrusion, the appropriate gasket is selected (see table below).

If the protrusion in the cylinders turns out to be different, the largest protrusion should be taken when choosing a gasket.

Attention! When setting the piston to TDC, rotate the crankshaft clockwise to measure protrusion.
