- The electrolyte level is checked by the Min and Max marks on the battery case. The electrolyte level is normal if it matches the Max mark.
If the electrolyte level is below the Min mark, add distilled water.
Checking the electrolyte level in individual banks:
- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers.
- If there is a protective film on the caps of the battery cans, remove it. In this case, the sticker with warning pictograms should remain on the battery.
- Unscrew the caps from the jars.
- Check the electrolyte level in the jars. The plastic protrusion corresponds to the mark of the maximum electrolyte level. Electrolyte level (1) OK if it matches this label. If the electrolyte level is below the plastic ledge mark, add distilled water.
If the electrolyte level in each bank is correct, you must:
- check the plugs and sealing rings on them for damage; damaged parts must be replaced;
- screw the corks into the holes of the jars.
