General provisions
Change of oil (bringing it up to normal) and filter is carried out after repair work or as part of an inspection service. There is no other reason to change or add oil.
The following sequence of actions must be strictly followed.
Conditions:
- Engine off.
- The car is located strictly horizontally, all grips of the lift are located at the same height.
- The selector lever is in position «R».
- The tester is connected.
- By the beginning of the work, the oil temperature does not exceed 50°C.
At temperatures above 50°C, allow the gearbox to cool down.
Gearboxes manufactured before September 20, 2004
Before September 20, 2004, gearboxes were manufactured with a level plug (A) and with oil drain plug (IN).
It is important not to confuse the drain plug (IN) and screw plug of the control hole (A). Check hole plug (A) is located next to the lower support of the power unit.
Gearboxes manufactured after September 20, 2004
Gearboxes manufactured after September 20, 2004 do not have a screw plug (IN), therefore oil drain and oil level adjustment are carried out through the screw plug (A). Threaded plug for oil drain and oil level control (A) is located next to the lower support of the power unit.
Threaded plug for oil drain and oil level control in both gearboxes.
The o-ring must be replaced each time the plug is removed.
Filter replacement
1. Select an item on the tester «Guided Functions» and identify the vehicle.
2. Then select the item «Direct shift manual transmission», then point «Checking the oil level».
3. Do not start the engine!
4. Install the receiving tray under the gearbox.
5. Unscrew the filter housing (arrow).
6. Before removing the filter housing from the gearbox, shake it slightly so that the oil from the filter flows back into the gearbox.
7. Then remove the filter housing and filter.
8. After installing a new filter with the belt down (arrow) tighten its housing to 20 Nm.
Change of oil
1. Raise the car.
2. Remove the noise-insulating lower casing of the engine compartment.
3. Install the receiving tray under the gearbox.
4. Remove screw plug (arrow), located next to the lower support of the power unit.
Behind this screw plug (arrow) there is a plastic overflow tube (internal hexagon 8 mm). The length of this overflow tube determines the oil level in the gearbox.
5. Remove the overflow tube and allow the oil to drain.
6. After about 5 liters of oil have flowed out, screw in the overflow pipe again. Tightening torque: 3 Nm.
7. Screw the adapter into the inspection hole by hand (A) devices (IN) to fill the gearbox with oil.
B. Shake the double clutch oil containers before opening.
9. Fill with oil.
Checking the oil level
1. Check oil temperature.
2. Start the engine.
3. Apply the brake and select all gears in sequence, holding each gear engaged for 3 seconds.
4. After that, set the selector lever back to position «R», without turning off the engine.
When the oil temperature in the gearbox with double disc clutch is from 35°C to 45°C
6. Disconnect adapter quick coupler with engine running.
7. Allow excess oil to drain. In this case, it is considered that the excess oil drained when the oil began to drip, and not pour.
Caution: Do not reuse drained oil!
8. Unscrew adapter for oil filling.
9. Replace the unscrewed screw plug with sealing ring. Tightening torque: 45 Nm.
10. Turn off the engine. This completes the oil and filter change, and the correct oil level is set in the gearbox.
11. Install the noise-insulating lower casing of the engine compartment.
12. Turn off the tester.
