Replacing spark plugs

Necessary special devices, control and measuring devices, as well as auxiliary means.

1.4 liter engines

Removing

1. Remove the upper engine cover (in the presence of). The spark plugs are under the ignition coils with the output stages (arrow).



2. With puller (Т10094) remove the ignition coils with output stages from the spark plugs. Ignition coils with output stages must be installed in the correct mounting position.



3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil. To do this, by pressing the connector to the ignition coil, unlock the latch by hand, and then remove the connector.


4. Unscrew the spark plugs using a spark plug wrench.

Installation

1. Screw in new spark plugs using a spark plug wrench.

2. Connect the electrical connectors to the ignition coils with output stages and install the ignition coils in the cylinder head.

3. Align the ignition coils in their recesses in the cylinder head.

4. Install the ignition coils on the spark plugs by pushing them in by hand. The moment of fixation should be clearly felt.

5. Install the upper engine cover (in the presence of).

1.6 liter engines

Removing

1. Remove the upper engine cover (in the presence of).

2. To disconnect sockets of atomizers of the first and fourth cylinders.

3. Disconnect the spark plug tips using the assembly tool (Т10112).



4. Unscrew the spark plugs using a spark plug wrench.

Installation

1. Screw in new spark plugs with a spark plug wrench.

2. Then re-insert the spark plug tips using the assembly tool (Т10112).

3. Reconnect the connectors to the injectors.

4. Check the reliability of the fastening of the injector connectors, ignition wires and spark plug tips.

5. Install the upper engine cover (in the presence of).
