The working brake system of the front wheels, as the brake pads are worn, does not need to be adjusted, since due to the operation of the adjusting mechanism, the pistons of the brake cylinders provide the required clearances between the linings and brake discs.
However, self-retracting (due to the adjustment mechanism) screw the pistons of the brake cylinders of the rear wheels before installing new brake pads, using a special tool (see 15.3.2).
The action of the brakes is checked on special installations or on a flat and dry section of the road. To do this, the car is accelerated to a speed of 30-40 km / h and then it is strongly slowed down, checking the simultaneous action of the brakes of all wheels.
Check if the brake discs heat up when the car is moving. If the control mechanism is working properly, there should be no heating.
