When carrying out repairs and maintenance of the car, follow these recommendations:
- screws and nuts must be clean and lightly greased. Always check the threads of nuts and bolts for damage. Use new screws or nuts if necessary;
- always replace removed self-locking nuts with new ones;
- Always observe the specified tightening torques for screw connections. Torque values are divided into groups, in accordance with the sections of this manual, which makes it easy to find the required values;
- Replace all gaskets, seals, lock washers, cotter pins, and O-rings when reassembling (round rings). It is also necessary to replace shaft seals and radial shaft seals if the shaft has been removed from the shaft seal. Before installation, the surface of the O-ring should be coated with grease. When installing it, care should be taken to ensure that the lubricated side faces in the direction from which oil or grease can flow;
- pay special attention to securely fixing the car in a raised position, using, if possible, three-legged jack stands;
- grease, oil, anti-corrosion protection of the underbody and all mineral substances act aggressively on the rubber parts of the chassis and the brake system. Do not allow such substances, as well as fuel, to come into contact, especially on the rubber parts of the hydraulic system. Use only brake fluid or alcohol to clean the brake system. However, do not forget that brake fluid can ruin the paintwork of the car;
- after the repair, it is imperative to check the correct operation of the systems and assemblies of the car when the car is moving.
