Thus, summer diesel fuel will give you problems, for example, even at temperatures below -2°C, while winter fuel remains fluid down to -15°C. If there is no winter fuel at the gas station, special pour point depressants can be added to summer fuel (antigels), which lower the waxing temperature from about -8 to -10°C.
When operating a diesel engine vehicle at low temperatures, problems may occur in the following cases:
- the temperature drops below -15°C;
- you did not drive a car for a long time, and then began to operate it again, but in the winter, while the fuel purchased in the summer was filled in the tank;
- you bought diesel fuel at a gas station that has not yet switched to selling winter fuel.
