Diesel engine — general information

The car is equipped with a 4-cylinder diesel engine with a working volume of 1.9 liters with direct fuel injection and turbocharging. The intake air compressed by the turbocharger is cooled by a charge air cooler located under the radiator of the engine cooling system. Engine power is 66 kW (90 hp) at a crankshaft speed of 4000 min^–1, maximum torque - 202 Nm at 1900 min^–1.

The crankshaft of the engine is five-bearing. The engine camshaft and high pressure fuel pump are driven by a toothed belt. Auxiliary units are driven by a V-ribbed belt. The engine is equipped with hydraulic valve lifters - this eliminates the procedure for adjusting clearances in the valve mechanism. The engine is mounted on two hydraulic bearings.
