To remove the flywheel from the crankshaft, block it with a retainer in a stationary state and unscrew the flywheel mounting bolts, which can be immediately discarded, since only new flywheel mounting bolts should always be installed.
Check the condition of the ring gear and if the teeth are damaged, replace the flywheel. If the flywheel has scratches or burrs on the bearing surface of the clutch disc, remove them with a groove.
The flywheel is dismantled on the installed engine after removing the gearbox. At the same time, be sure to check if engine oil is leaking through the crankshaft rear oil seal. In case of leakage, replace the seal.
When installing the flywheel, first tighten the mounting bolts by hand, and then tighten them in turn crosswise with a tightening torque of 70 Nm. Then turn each bolt again crosswise by another 90°.
