Checking the temperature sensor of the remote thermometer

Disconnect the wire from the temperature sensor and connect between its terminal and «weight» ohmmeter. With a cold engine, the resistance of the sensor should be large enough. Start the engine. As the engine warms up, the resistance of the temperature sensor should decrease inversely with the engine temperature.

The cause of the malfunction may also be a remote thermometer. To check, disconnect the wire, and with the ignition off, connect it to «mass». Turn on the ignition. The pointer of the remote thermometer should immediately move to the position «Heiss» (hot). Switch off the ignition.

Attention! Connect the test lead only for a short time to avoid damaging the remote thermometer.
