- start the engine and let it warm up to the set temperature;
- slowly unscrew the cap of the expansion tank to release steam from it;
- insert the thermometer into the expansion tank. The temperature of the coolant in the expansion tank must be between 93-98°C and the fan must turn on;
- if the fan does not turn on, then turn off the ignition, pull out both wires from the terminals of the temperature switch and connect their ends to each other;
- turn on the ignition. The fan should start working immediately;
- if the fan is running, the temperature switch is faulty and needs to be replaced.
