Remove the water cooling pump in the following order:
- drain the coolant from the cooling system (see point 5.1.1);
- remove the toothed or V-belt;
- remove the protective casing of the drive belt;

- unscrew the fastening bolts and remove the pulley 11 (pic. 188) pump. To fix the pulley in a fixed position, put a V-belt on it and clamp the pulley with it. If a toothed belt is installed, then also fix the pulley in a fixed position;
- loosen the hose clamps at the points of their connection to the pump and remove the hoses;

The location of some parts of the cooling system of the 2.0-liter engine: 1 - throttle body; 2 - O-ring, always replaceable; 3 - temperature switch (turning off the air conditioner and the third stage of the cooling fan); 4 - coolant temperature sensor; 5 - switch clamp; 6 - bolt, 10 Nm; 7 - holder; 8 - to the heat exchanger; 9 - from the heat exchanger; 10 - cover of the expansion tank; 11 - expansion tank; 12 - plug, black; 13 - coolant pipeline; 14 - oil cooler; 15 - to the lower surface of the radiator; 16 - bolt, 20 Nm (and turn another 90°); 17 - bolt, 30 Nm; 18 - generator bracket; 19 - V-ribbed belt; 20 - water pump; 21 - to the top side of the radiator
- unscrew the water pump mounting bolts 20 (pic. 189) and remove it from the engine;
- Remove the water pump O-ring 2 and check its condition.
Note. Another O-ring sits between the pump inlet pipe and the water pump housing.
Install the water pump in the reverse order of removal, following these recommendations:
- tighten the pump and pulley mounting bolts with a torque of 20 Nm;
- adjust the tension of the V-belt with a special tensioner.
