Attention! To prevent ESD damage, do not disassemble the metal case of the ECU and touch the connector pins.
Attention! People with a pacemaker are prohibited from repairing the power supply system and the engine ignition system associated with it.
- never touch electrical wires while the engine is running or being cranked by the starter;
- disconnect and connect the electrical wires of the injection and ignition system only when the ignition is off. After turning off the ignition, wait at least 20 seconds for the mass air flow sensor thread to cool down;
Pic. 199. Disabling the flow of electric current to the ignition system
- when turning the engine with a starter, so that the engine does not start, it is necessary to turn off the supply of electric current to the ignition system. To do this, disconnect the entire five-pin connector of the ignition coil (pic. 199);
- engine start method «smoking» from another car should last no more than 1 minute at a voltage of no more than 16.5 V;
- when washing the engine, the ignition must be turned off;
- before carrying out electric welding, it is necessary to disconnect the wires from the battery and the plug from the computer;
- it is not allowed to disconnect the battery from the on-board network when the engine is running;
- when charging, the battery must be disconnected from the on-board network;
- Do not expose the ECU to temperatures above 85°C, such as the temperature of a drying chamber. In this case, the computer must first be dismantled;
- it is necessary to control the reliability of the contacts of the wiring harnesses and maintain the complete cleanliness of the AB terminals;
- it is not allowed to disconnect and connect the ECU plug with the ignition on;
- When towing the vehicle, always disconnect the connector from the ECU to avoid damage from the ignition system.
