Installing the front panel in the proper position relative to the body

To increase the vertical gap between the door upholstery and the front panel, it is not necessary to change the position of the front panel. To increase the gap on the left, attach a rag of the appropriate thickness to the left end of the front panel, and then close the door. This will draw the upholstery closer to the door, and the gap between the upholstery and the front panel will increase accordingly. With this adjustment method, you do not need to move the front panel.

Instructions: On the front passenger side, work is carried out in the same way.

Putting the Front Panel in the Correct Position

The front panel is adjustable in height and in the transverse direction. Remove the wiper arms. Remove the plenum box cover. Remove the front panel side trims. Remove trim for heater and air conditioner control panel. Loosen the screws -1- and -2- located under the control panel for the heater and air conditioner by approx. 2-3 turns (2.5±0.5 Nm). Remove footwell trim on both sides.



Loosen the screw -1- in the plenum box by 2-3 turns (20 Nm).

Instructions: Despite the fact that the picture shows a Golf Plus, the work is carried out in the same way.

Loosen two screws -1- and -2- on each side of the tunnel by about 2-3 turns (20 Nm).



Loosen the nut -1- on the right side by approx. 2-3 turns (20 Nm). Loosen the two nuts -2- on the left side by approx. 2-3 turns (20 Nm).
