Removal and installation of a steering wheel

Removing

Remove the airbag module from the driver's side. Disconnect connector -1- of coiled cable.

Set steering wheel to center position (wheels must be straight). Loosen screw -2- and remove steering wheel from steering column shaft.

Installation

Install the steering wheel on the steering column shaft. The marks for the central position of the steering wheel and the steering column -arrows- must match. Feed connector for steering angle sender -G85- into hole provided for connector in steering wheel base. Plug in connector -1- for steering angle sender -G85-. Secure the steering wheel with a new bolt -2-. Tightening torque: steering wheel to steering column, be sure to replace the bolt - 30 Nm and tighten by 90°.
