Examination
The brake system is tested on an adjustable counter-roller brake test rig.
The counter-rotating rollers on the brake tester rotate forward on one side and backward on the other.
The speed of the adjustable rollers can be adjusted so that they rotate at the same speed during the brake test.
This prevents the transfer of braking forces to the transmission.
The test takes measurements on the wheel that rotates forward, so 2 brake tests are needed for each axle.
When checking, it is not allowed to exceed the speed of 6 km / h.
Pressure leak test
Brake system, its performance and tightness (hydraulic block, brake hoses, brake lines and brake calipers) should be fine.
Unscrew the bleeder plug on one of the front brake calipers. Connect the brake system tester VAG 1310 A and bleed.
Pressurize the brake pedals until the pressure gauge shows 50 bar overpressure. During the 45 s test, the pressure drop must not exceed 4 bar. If the pressure drop is greater, replace the brake master cylinder.
