NOTE: The operation of the front wiper can be tested using the Final Element Diagnostic on the onboard power supply control unit J400.
General description
NOTE: Hood (Bonnet contact switch F266) must be closed to activate the wiper functions.
The wiper motor control unit J400 is integrated in the wiper motor V.
NOTE: When replacing the wiper motor control unit J400 or wiper motor V, the windscreen wiper control unit J400 must be coded.
Depending on the equipment, a rain sensor G213 or a rain and light sensor G397 can also be fitted.
The function of the rain sensor G213 is activated by the intermittent wiper switch E22.
NOTE: The rain sensor G213 detects the amount of rain and converts it into a corresponding signal. This signal is first received by the wiper motor control unit J400, which transmits it to the wiper motor V.
The rain and light sensor G397 has, in addition to the above functions of the rain sensor G213, the ALS function (automatic headlights).
ALS function (automatic headlights) activated with light switch E1.
