Removing
Remove the front bumper.
Bring the radiator frame to the service position.
Set the crankshaft to the dead center position of the first cylinder, check the valve timing.
Remove the vibration damper.
Drain the coolant.
Remove hose 3 from the tube of the cooling system. Unscrew fixing bolts 1 and 2 and fold the cooling system pipe forward (pic. 2.247).
Remove the coolant drain plug.
Remove the water pump cover.
Remove the water pump mounting bolts (pic. 2.248) and remove the water pump.
NOTE: If the water pump bolts are not accessible, install the vibration damper and rotate the crankshaft using the T10172 counterholder and the T10172/1 bolt until the bolts are accessible.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order, paying attention to the following:
Lubricate the new O-ring with coolant, do not use other lubricants.
Insert water pump.
Tighten the fixing bolts (pic. 2.248) water pump with a torque of 20 Nm + 1/4 rev. (90°).
Tighten the water pump cover mounting bolts in sequence to 8 Nm (pic. 2.249).
Fill with coolant.
