Check condition
The fuel pressure should be normal, check the fuel pressure regulator and the residual pressure in the fuel system.
Checking procedure
Remove the intake manifold. Then completely remove the fuel rail (the fuel supply line must be left connected).
Leak test
Remove the fuse box cover.
Remove the fuel pump relay 1 and 2 from the sockets (pic. 2.276).
Connect the remote control for VAG 1348, VAG 1348/FOR VAG 1348/33 adapter wire to the fuel pump relay connector of the right fuel delivery module (pic. 2.277).
Connect the second contact of the adapter wire - VAG 1348/33 to the fuel pump relay connector of the left fuel delivery module (pic. 2.278).
Turn on the remote control.
If the fuel pumps are working, check the injectors for leaks (visual inspection). With the fuel pumps running, 1-2 drops of fuel per minute should come out of each injector.
If more fuel comes out, replace the faulty injector.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. In doing so, the following must be taken into account.
O-rings must be changed on all injectors and pre-moistened with engine oil.
Insert the injectors vertically, in the correct position, into the fuel rail and fix them with mounting brackets.
Install the fuel rail with the injectors fixed in it to the intake manifold and press it evenly.
