Check condition
The fuel pump relays and fuses 13 and 14 must be inserted into the blocks.
Checking procedure
Connect the adapter cable, 121-pin VAG 1598/31 and bridge the switch sockets 1 and 65 with wires from the VAG 1594С set (pic. 2.279).
Insert the injector to be tested into the measuring vessel of the VAG 1602 injection quantity tester.
Connect one contact of the tested injector using a wire from the set of auxiliary measuring instruments VAG 1594/C to the engine ground (pic. 2.280).
Connect the second contact of the injector using an auxiliary wire to the remote control for VAG 1348 - VAG 1348 / 3A with an adapter wire - VAG 1348 / 32.
Clamp type «crocodile» connect to the positive battery terminal in the engine compartment.
Operate the remote control for 30 s.
Repeat the operation with the rest of the injectors. Use a separate tube for each nozzle.
After testing all the injectors, place the measuring jars on a level surface and compare the amount of fuel. Target value: 128-140 ml per nozzle.
If the specified value is either not reached or exceeded by one or more injectors, replace the defective injector.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. In doing so, the following must be taken into account.
O-rings must be changed on all injectors and pre-moistened with engine oil.
Insert the injectors vertically, in the correct position, into the fuel rail and fix them with the fixing brackets.
Install the fuel rail with the injectors fixed in it to the intake manifold and press it evenly.
