Dismantling
Remove wheel cover.
Loosen wheel bolts.
Pull out the cotter pin, unscrew the axle nut.
Attention! For safety reasons, the vehicle must be on its wheels when loosening and tightening the castellated nut!
The brake drum can also be removed without the hub. In this case, it is not necessary to loosen the nut.
Raise the rear of the car.
Remove wheel.
Unscrew the 2 bolts from the brake drum, remove the drum, if necessary, first move the handbrake cables with the equalizing lever and the brake shoes with the adjusting gear, see Fig. "Disabling the rear wheel brake" And "Hand brake".
In any case, the brake drum must be rotated by hand before removal.
(46-392) if you need to remove the wheel hub as well, use a suitable puller and remove the brake drum together with the rear wheel hub.
A brake drum that has scratches should be rebored or replaced.
Installation
Adjust rear wheel brakes, see "Rear wheel brake adjustment".
Install hub with brake drum or just one drum. Before doing this, check the brake drum for wear, damage, conformity to the specified dimensions and perfect braking surfaces.
If only the brake drum was removed, secure it with two bolts.
Screw on the slotted nut and tighten slightly.
Spin the wheel.
Lower the car.
Attention! The castle nut may only be screwed on when the wheels are on the ground.
Tighten the castle nut (cotter pin 6) with a torque of 500 nm, a castle nut with a cotter pin 10 - with a torque of 500 nm. If the cotter pin does not fit into the hole now, tighten the castle nut further.
Tighten wheel bolts crosswise to 180 Nm.
Install the wheel cover.
