The current source is a three-phase current generator with a device for regulating voltage and charging current. The advantage of a three-phase car alternator is that it charges the battery even when the engine is idling. The generator is driven from the propeller shaft through a V-belt. Part of the energy that consumers do not need goes to recharge the battery.
The most important consumers of electricity are:
- starter
- heating system
- lighting
- wiper
- appliances
- sound horn
- interior lighting
- accessories: heated rear window, blower motor, radio, etc.
Lights include both projectors, front direction indicators, flashing rear and brake lights, and license plate lights.
The windshield wiper consists of a motor, a drive system and both wipers. The windshield washer works electrically. The washer reservoir at the front of the footwell is connected by a hose to both jets.
Instruments include the speedometer, fuel gauge, trip meter, and warning lights for oil pressure, charging current, high beam and flashing light.
The fuses are located under the plastic cover on the left and below the dashboard or on the right. The auxiliary heating system is protected by two fuses, namely a 16 A fuse for the entire system and an 8 A fuse for overheating. Both fuses are located in a special box behind the glove box.
