Checking the Regulator Valve

If the regulator valve does not open, the motor may overheat. If the thermostat is permanently open, the engine cannot reach its operating temperature.

Drain coolant.

Remove the regulator, heat it in hot water.

Control the water temperature with a thermometer.

The opening temperature of the regulator is about 85-105 degrees, the stroke is at least 7 mm.



(19-003) before heating the regulator, measure the size "A".

After heating the regulator to about 100 deg. C size "b" must be larger "A" at least 7 mm.
