Sealed toothed belt guard

From model 2.84, the diesel engine is equipped with a fully sealed toothed belt guard. For this reason, the following repair instructions must be observed.



To remove the rear protective cover:

• first dismantle the camshaft wheel, tension roller and fuel pump, then release the fuel pump console.
• release the camshaft wheel from the cone through a 6 mm hole using a mandrel and a hammer (see arrow).
• (13-730) the inter-shaft wheel was installed closer to the cylinder block, and the console of the fuel pump in the area of the inter-shaft wheel was blunted. Only a new wheel is supplied as a spare part. When installing 8 previously manufactured engines (without sealed cover) care must be taken to ensure that there is at least 0.5 mm free play between the wheel and the console (see arrow). If necessary, modify the console in the wheel area.
