The in-line 4-cylinder water-cooled engine is located at the rear of the car. Cylinders are an integral part of the engine housing and cannot be replaced. If necessary, the cylinders can be finished by grinding. A coolant circulates between the four cylinders, driven by a cooling pump.
The oil circulation system consists of an oil pump, an oil filter, a pressure switch, a bypass valve and an oil safety valve. The bypass valve opens when the oil filter is clogged, and the safety valve opens when the pressure is too high.
On the engine housing is a cylinder head with a camshaft at the top, which directly opens the valves using a bowl-shaped pusher. Exhaust and suction outlets are screwed to the cylinder head. Fuel is supplied by the fuel pump.
The engine number is located on the cylinder block between the vacuum and fuel pumps (10-574).
The chassis number is marked under the machine on the right side of the cross bar (B25-69).
Chassis number decoding:
- 1 - manufacturer
- 2 - fill characters, except for the United States
- 3 - two-digit abbreviation for the type of vehicle
- 4 - filling characters
- 5 - model year (E-1984, F-1985, etc.)
- 6 - place of production within the concern
- 7 - current numbering, for each model
