As a general rule, the carburetor should be completely disassembled only when a major overhaul is necessary. This work must be done at a service station. If the carburetor is internally dirty, in most cases it is enough to remove the upper part of the carburetor and unscrew the main jet from the float chamber. In this case, the float chamber is cleaned with gasoline or air.
