Removing
Attention: Removed valves must be installed in their original places. Mark valve before removing. With a high mileage of the engine on crackers, there may be small burrs at the ends of the valve stems. These scratches should be removed with a thin file so that they do not leave scratches when the valve is pulled out of the guide sleeve.
Coat the valve stem with molybdenum sulfide grease in accordance with the marking made, insert the old valve.
Insert valve spring and valve head.
Attention: Install the spring cup so that its narrow tray faces the cylinder head.
Compress the spring with a suitable tool and insert the crackers.
Note: The surfaces of the shims to be installed may be worn to the extent that the valve stem can be rotated with the compressed shims applied.
Checking valves
Clean the removed valves with a wire brush.
Check the valves for the absence of burnouts of the valve seats, signs of wear and impact on the valve stems and the integrity of the cracker grooves.
Attention: The valve stem cannot be reworked or reworked. Damaged valves must be replaced.
