Bottom protection and preservation of axle shafts

The rear wheel wells as well as the side members in the area of the driver's door are covered with PUC underbody protection. Areas subject to stone impacts, for example in the area of rotation of the front wheels, are additionally covered with an elastic varnish. The cavities in the rear of the body are covered with a special wax. In addition, the body parts subject to corrosion are made of galvanized sheet. Before the cold season and after washing the underbody, the underbody protection must be checked and, if necessary, preserved.

Dust, clay, sand can fly from the wheels to the bottom and be deposited there. The removal of such deposits, mixed with salt in winter, is especially important.

Hood preservation is necessary to prevent corrosion in the front of the machine (e.g. side parts, stringers or front end) and drive units. The hood, with the inclusion of parts of the brake system, elements of the front axle and steering, spray with high-quality conservation wax after washing the engine.

Attention! Before washing the engine, cover the alternator and the expansion tank of the brake system with plastic wrap. Although the alternator bearing is protected from water, when cleaning with a steam jet, there is a danger of leaching by lubricant-dissolving additives. The consequence of this may be the appearance of noise in the bearing or even its failure. After waxing, clean all hinges and grease with MoS2 paste.
