- anti-acid lubricant, for example, BOSCH-Polfett;
- steel brush (brush for cleaning poles and terminals);
- suitable voltage measuring device.
Cleaning the battery poles
During regular inspection of the machine, it is necessary to clean the poles and terminals of the battery and lubricate them with anti-acid grease.
The electrolyte poured into commercially available batteries is usually sufficient for the entire service life of the battery.
Warning! Do not use naked flames near the battery: explosive!
Out-of-service voltage test
A simple and reliable service battery test is the idle voltage test.
1. Disconnect the battery. This, among other things, erases the radio code.
2. After about 2 hours, measure the voltage between the poles of the battery. If the instrument shows 12.5 V, the battery is OK. If less, find out and eliminate the causes and, if necessary, replace the battery.
3. In case of malfunctions in the electrical system, use the wiring diagrams to detect the malfunction.
