- connection of the cylinder block with the gearbox (flywheel/transmission drive shaft seal);
- oil filling and drain plugs.
Half shafts to gearbox
When looking for leaks, do the following:
- clean the gearbox housing with a cold cleaner;
- check the oil level, top up if necessary;
- apply lime or talc to possible leaks;
- make a test drive so that the oil becomes liquid. To do this, drive about 30 km on the motorway;
- then install the machine on the goats and examine the leakage points of the gearbox with a lantern;
- fix leaks.
Attention! With a dry gearbox, checking the oil level is not required. However, if the oil is leaking, then the level must be checked.
Checking the oil level in a manual transmission
1. Place the machine horizontally on jack stands.
2. Unscrew the 17 mm wrench oil filling screw. It is located on the front side of the box under the starter.
3. If a small amount of oil comes out when the plug is removed, the oil level is correct. Otherwise, check with your finger whether the oil level reaches the lower edge of the filler hole. If not, add hypoid oil. This requires an oil syringe. When filling oil, place a container to collect the leaking oil. Do not add too much oil at once.
4. The specification for hypoid oils is GL 4 SAE 80 or synthetic oil G 50 SAE 75 W-90. Filling quantity: 3.0 l.
Attention! Make sure that the oil is not filled too much, but only to the lower edge of the filler hole.
5. Tighten the oil filling screw plug, remove the machine from the gantry.
