Checking the exhaust gas system by external inspection

1. Check the tightness of the clamps.

2. Inspect with a flashlight the absence of holes, rusted and worn parts.

3. Replace severely dented exhaust pipes.

4. Check the rubber bearings for porosity by twisting and stretching, replace if necessary.

5. Petrol engines: check lambda probe cable. Replace if damaged. The probe is screwed into the exhaust pipe in front of the catalytic converter.
