Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air through the pores of the brake hoses, as well as the air outlet of the expansion tank. Therefore, the boiling point of the brake fluid drops over time. During sudden braking, this can lead to the formation of steam bubbles in the brake lines and the operation of the brake system will be severely impaired.
Brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years, possibly in the spring. When driving in mountains, change the brake fluid more frequently.

Pay attention to precautions when handling brake fluid. Dispose of old brake fluid at local collection points for special waste.
