4 cylinder engine
Removing
1. Drain coolant.
2. Remove thermostat.
3. Unscrew the bolts of the V-belt pulley, to do this, compress and hold the V-belt.
4. Remove V-belt.
5. Loosen the hose clamp on the water pump housing.
6. Remove hoses.
7. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the pump.
8. If the pump bearing is damaged or leaking, replace the water pump completely.
Installation
1. Install water pump with new O-ring and tighten to 20 Nm.
Attention! If only the paper gasket or the bearing housing together with the gear has been replaced, tighten the bearing housing to a torque of 10 Nm. Under no circumstances must the screws be tightened too tightly.
2. Install thermostat.
3. Put on the hoses and secure with clamps.
4. Screw on the V-belt pulley.
5. Install V-belt.
6. Fill with coolant.
7. After a test run, check the tightness of the hoses and the water pump.
5 cylinder engine
Removing
The water pump is located in the front of the cylinder block and is driven by a toothed belt.
1. Drain coolant.
2. Remove toothed belt.
3. Unscrew water pump and remove.
Installation
1. Replace the O-ring, screw on the water pump and tighten the screws to 20 Nm.
2. Install toothed belt.
3. Fill with coolant.
4. After the control run, check the tightness of the water pump.
